Last night the rain storm made the dish tv go out for a little bit - so I decided to work on replacing the inner tubes on my bicycle which is in the livingroom. #1 I've never replaced an inner tube so I was wondering how to do it properly. The packaging said "go to" and a web address. Now I wonder who has a computer with them when they blow a tire out on the street and need to know how to change it?  anyway, I waited till my roommate came how and could look it up on her computer.

#2 - since the TV was out I decided to put in a cassette tape that I found last week. It was from my college days when I had a radio with a tape deck and I would try to catch and tape all my favorite songs. Most songs were whole songs, but some were big pieces. It was amazing to me that I could sing every word of those songs even tho' I had not heard some for 20 years!  The tape even had some talking on it between my roommate and I which made me laugh out loud for a long time.   I really miss her - she lives in England and I haven't seen her for many years. I was also reading through my yearbooks of high school and college.

Hmmm, those were great times!

August 4

Wow, just looking at the photos on my blog here makes me miss having tons of students over to my house!

The summer has been full of business at the family campground with working in the office and driving the bus for various trips whether it be from camp to camp, Glens falls runs, or going to Burlington to pick up campers.

The grades were due this weekend and it did not go so well which presents stress and a headache for me. We have to get things ready for graduation down in Florida and they do many meetings about awards.

Cola is doing ok. I broke down and bought more medicine for her - antiflamatory and liver meds.

My roommate will be moving out in 2 weeks...so looking for another one.

I get my new windows put into the house tomorrow..they've only been sitting in my kitchen since November! :)

Still trying to get my bike operational..now i need a new tire inner tube.

This summer has been a great ministry for me to the many people I try to encourage!

April 09

This past weekend I traveled to Kitchener, On to see my friend in "The Easter Story" at his church. I really enjoyed watching it and having a few minutes to spend with him.  On Saturday I also went to the "largest Maple Syrup" one-day festival in Elmira with some friends.  The food was soooo good!  The cold and the wind on the other hand was almost unbearable and we didn't stay for long.

On Sunday I participated in singing with the choir for our Easter Cantata. I always love singing about Christ's resurrection.     On the 2 nights students were over at my house enjoying relaxing and watching movies and having fun.  I'm so thankful for my house and that they come over!

Monday I took the train from Albany down to NYC to see my best friend from high school. She and her daughter were flying in from Atlanta.  The trip was great. I ate lunch with a friend that works in Time Square and had fun playing games at Dave & Buster's.     The air flight was delayed and I sat in a hotel lobby (watching people) for 4 hours!  It was worth it to see them and then only got to spend a couple hours with them.

So here are some pictures of students at my house during my Super Bowl party, and pics from NYC and friends.

I came on to xanga to comment on a friends site. When I came to mine I couldn't believe the changes! It's all so new and with different things not in the original place - almost complicated.

Anyway ~ School has started and things are starting to get back to a routine.

I have a grade question sheet on my desk from a student that noticed he was missing one of his grades...from a year and a half ago!! and a different campus!  I'm always amazed that so many students look at their paper right out of the mailbox and then throw it away. Never to record it for themselves or to make sure that it ends up on the computer grades. Only when their GPA is close to a breaking point do they look at their grades and see 0's. Then they come ask me to fix it.  I ask for the paper and they don't have it.  If everyone could be like this student and save the papers just for the quarter it would be great.   I think I finally threw my tests from my BI year away 18 years later.  That is way too long! :)

So today is their first quiz, I think 95% will go in the trash.

I've been away from Xanga for so long it's hard for me to manuver around the site!

We are in our 3rd week of classes already. The days are going by fast. The air is getting cool and the trees are starting to turn beautiful colors. The lake is very smooth and quiet and reflect the colors.   Last night I went canoeing. I haven't been for many months - sad I know, but you must have a partner to canoe with.  Now I have one! A friend that I'm getting to know well and we are having a great time. She is a 2nd year student and a joy to be around. I've really missed having a close friend to do things with.

Last week a small group of us went to Crown Point to pick apples. It was a beautiful day and we made a whole day of getting up there and coming back - stopping at every little thing that would grab our attention.  This weekend is the Warrensburg garage sale. It's a fun time to go walk for a day and see all the things.  On Sunday I'm having 8-9 students over for dinner as part of our "Eat at a Staff person's house" activity.  Last Friday I had the girls soccer team over for a spegghetti dinner.  I'm very happy to be using the house God gave me to encourage others. I've been meeting new students quickly and getting to know their names and faces.  I've taken Cola to 2 home soccer games. She loves to go and the students love to pet her.

This weekend I'll drive the bus for a conference at the Inn. We are going to Lake Placid. It should be beautiful up there. Hopefully it won't rain all day.
